The border governors are using people as pawns and they are terrible, but I do see the need for the migrants to be spread around the country and not only be a burden on border states. To my mind those that struggled so hard and persisted and risked so much to come here are the future and exemplify people who want to live the American Dream. The approach I would take is to welcome them wholeheartedly and get them legal working status as soon as possible.
The upside of having more working age people who want to make it here so badly far out weighs the short term costs.
Of course we need a smart process and reasonable controls, but on the whole these are people who will contribute to the country and need not be vilified.
(To those who will reply that I should then have them live with me, I answer “ok.)
There is a need for immigration reform. It is blocked in the House. Why? They want this issue. It is good for them!!
