Hitch
Was telling the truth
Over 30 years ago Christopher Hitchens understood the underside of this country’s past and present. We are now living out the consequences of not hearing him and others who knew what was waiting in the wings.
There is much to do in the aftermath (when we get there.) At that time we must resolve to never again grow passive about anything as important as democracy, human rights and the civil rights of our people.
Call; and write your reps. Demand we defund ICE, get them out of our cities and hold Trump to account through impeachment of himself but his mob.

Like the NYT, The Boston Globe has long been a reliably honest news source. To learn that it has now bent the knee to the Evil Empire made my stomach drop as though I am on an elevator. Here in Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, our single print news source has recently folded. When its right wing owners, the Block family fired my friend and colleague Rob Rogers for telling the truth with his drawings, that was the last straw causing us to cancel our 40+ yr subscription. Although most of my news consumption is online, my trust in its accuracy has been severely eroded such that I question all that I read asking myself ‘who planted this piece and why’?
Once again we are expected to accept a full rejection of the Truth!
Outrageous!
(Reminds me of Ann Telnaes's experience at WaPo.)
