The nose knows... no limit to its ability to attack democracy at every possible opportunity. Here's hoping it cuts its nose off to spite its face.

Keeping it nosy today (very clever) while keeping it real (Robert Hubbell)--excellent on both counts!

Thankfully these guys have a way of tripping up! Thanks for reminding us of the importance of helping them do that, Steve!

Thanks for this, Steve.

Not many days ago you posted we shouldn’t “hate” and I’m trying. I knew these issues and yet my mouth puckered like eating a sour lemon when reading the noses. May I damn them to whatever is worst for them?

It’s important to define the word. hate, I think, because, you can hate vanilla ice cream. I hated broccoli rabe. And then my wife found a wonderful way to prepare it. I truly hate Nazis, pederasts, animal abusers, domestic abusers, and other low types of human behavior. But as individuals, if we cannot see their humanity (Hitler?) we can remember that our behavior will define our humanity. And that is worthy of respect. If we work hard justice can be brought without prejudice. I think I am better person, a better Jew, if I remember the New Testament as well, where the Rabbi reminds us that we are defined by how we treat the other.

These awful characters we see everyday are on the road to a very bad historical verdict. Many will be in prison. The most powerful thing we have is telling the truth. With anger, outrage, the force of organizing. All hate does, however, is eat away at the energy we need for good work.

My take.

Long ago, when presenting me with an award in my profession, a past honoree addressed me as “Rebbe” because I taught in all I did (and still do.) Rebbe Steve, thank you. And yes, I can and do and will. “Justice, Justice….”
