Spring Break in Tuscany was a dream. Surrounded by a feast of Renaissance and Medieval jewels (and la Bella vita.)
I was never too far from the real world. Gaza protest, International Women’s Day and here seeing Mr. Navalny remembered on a bridge with a view of the Ponte Vecchio, on a parapet covered by flowers.
Somehow got up at 3AM Friday morning to watch the SOTU. Then took a very happy nap!
Our window had this moving postcard of the Piazza Della Signoria. The Duomo on the left, the Palazzo Vecchio on the right. Just a slight squint a you could be in the 1890’s . . . or the 1490s.
Florence was too beautiful to describe. Best I guess to say that you enter a world of (stunning) art and (bloody) history. And then you find it enters you.
Will have my full sketchbook ready for Sunday.
Ciao!
So beautiful, Steve. I love that Navalny is remembered and honored all over the world.
Happy to hear you had a great time in Florence! Ciao Steve!
