After posting my Wanted piece for the LA Times I joined the Climate March to the UN on Sunday. Organizers feared that this would not be very well attended. Turns out, it was massive. Everyone who showed up felt very well rewarded . . . by the presence of everyone else! Mostly young active people, ready to march, be disobedient perhaps, organize and vote! Given the daily list of cascading catastrophes, I cannot believe but that the climate will not be a voting issue in 2024. And I feel we can win, if we stay on fire, much like our poor planet.
The crowd had wonderful signs and art objects. There was an also a marvelous drum corps that could be heard for many blocks in all directions. We were focused, on track and all going the same direction: End Fossil Fuels NOW!
In solidarity
Appearing in yesterday’s LA Times. With the great help of editor Susan Brenneman, my partner for the project.

Yes and the democracy sermon.
I remember participating in the first Earth Day 53 years ago (when we were 16). I had more energy but the passion to Save Our Earth has not waned. I stand with the youth of today. It’s the least we can do for f*#&ing up the last 53 years.
