I think this can make sense as a revolutionary time. A time where we do not look back and expect to be comfortable as we have been all our lives. But rather to know that change is either going to come as a wrenching, displacing, violent, continual state of upheaval or a time for social organization and good art, good writing, and good political activism in which major reforms are possible. Either way there is pain and great social conflict. But we can make the path. Reformation is never an easy, nor direct route.
Are there people in the US who are not paying attention? Not vigilant? Yes. Rhetorical questions - I know there are. Today a friend and I talked about the strain of all this. All including climate, climate disasters in so many countries; wars. What will, for those who gather with others for a holiday this season, be the conversations? What are they like for those who work in close proximity to others? How does the world recover?
