On a merchant ship, the Slop Chest is where the crew goes to buy personal supplies. In days of old, cigarettes, alcohol tax free, working clothes and gloves, etc. It is run by the Captain and profits go into their pockets. Some Captains would pocket the money, some would upgrade the ship in some way. It is the one weekly event where the Captain is forced to face his crew on a personal level. Think of Maralago as the new Global Slop Chest... Now if we can only fence around Florida and wait for that Category 6 Hurricane which can't happen because Climate Change is a hoax.
