I like the part where the defense attorneys say the defendant had mental problems as an excuse, but the defendant just bought a gun about one week before the shooting. If he had mental problems, why was it OK for him to buy a gun with a high capacity magazine? #otherposter
It is interesting how the federal government regulates marijuana on a federal level, but they won't regulate guns in a meaningful way on a federal level. Marijuana does not kill people like guns do. The war on drugs is a Republican scam to suppress votes. At the time the second amendment was ratified, guns were much less dangerous. There were no automatic or semi-automatic weapons then. The right to bear arms now should not automatically extend to the newest models of guns. The right to bear arms should be within reason.
Higher taxes on guns and ammo by #Congress . Require a license to own, possess, buy, sell or transfer a gun, with training and insurance requirement. Increase the minimum age requirement. Annual registration renewal.
There is no such thing as being “pro-life” while supporting laws that let children be shot in their schools, elders in grocery stores, worshipers in their houses of faith, survivors by abusers, or anyone in a crowded place.
