I've been doing a little online research, very amateur, and cannot find anything that says a single Senator can stop a confirmation. Are we sure that Schmidt is correct? He has made mistakes in the past, i.e. Sarah Palin. This might not be the same as Tuberville blocking military promotions.

Unfortunately there are those who believe the way to peace is to not stand up against the enemy. For example. they argued that it would be peaceful and save lives not to support Ukraine. Let Putin have it. Peace isn’t necessarily the answer if it means surrender or join the enemy. Do we know what it will cost us if we didn’t stand up against Russia or China? Or if we took over Greenland and Panama and Canada and Mexico by threat? How do we convince Americans that standing up to the enemy and for democracy is important to each of us when we can get richer going along with the oligarchs, whatever flag they fly? This is what we need to watch out for…the deals made that throw out our (historical ) values, here and abroad, for profits disguised as for peace. How to we stay convinced that democracy is or North Star when democracy gave us the government we now have? How do we stay committed to truth and facts when that is clearly a big disadvantage against those that see that as the a weakness and the way of losers?
I want a Senator so I can inundate them with calls! Alas I need others to do this. Call every hour, their US office and their district offices. Do what Steve Schmidt says to do. THIS is a time I feel even worse about not having voting representation. Do it for all of us whose calls and emails and letters are tossed aside by the Dems who even like DC!

What evidence is there that the elected guy will find someone with actual experience? He avoided it in his previous administration.
The evidence is that the aforementioned Tuberville shut down the approval process indefinitely, even though the Democrats held the majority.
