Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse. Trump has gotten us into an illegal war without any understanding of or caring about what he was doing. He never justified his reasons to get the constitutionally required approval from Congress. He didn’t even try to sway the American public. The latest polling shows that 59% of the American people disapprove. That number will go up every day, as more of our soldiers die.
There are War Power Resolutions proposed in both the Senate and the House. Please call your elected representatives as soon as you can and urge them to vote to stop this insanity. You can use this script or say whatever moves you. It is important to identify yourself as a constituent. We must flood the phone lines.
Hello, My name is ______. I am a constituent of Rep./Senator _______. I live at ___________. I’m calling because the House/Senate must immediately pass the War Powers Resolution. Trump’s war is illegal, and there is no factual basis for it. The President is exercising powers that he does not have, and U.S. service members and others are being killed in a war that should never have been started. I’m counting on you to do everything possible to see that the Resolution is passed and the war ended.Thank you.

Because of the war in Iran, the Republicans in Congress are putting pressure on the Democrats to vote for funding the DHS. There is a Democratic proposal on the table to separate ICE and CBP from the rest of the DHS funding. Our representatives need to know that we expect them to hold fast. Contact all of your representatives, both the Senate and the House, and tell them that you want them to say “NO” to any funding for ICE/CBP. Although it is tempting to make one call to each representative about all these issues, it is important to make separate calls for each one. There is a staff person who monitors the calls and makes a tally. They will only count the first issue you mention.
The last round of calls is about the SAVE ACT. As we have discussed in the recent past, this bill will disenfranchise many millions of voters. The House has already passed the bill, so it is up to the Senateto continue to say NO. As long as the current rules hold, it will require 60 votes in the Senate to pass this horrible bill. That means that 7 Democrats need to join all 53 Republicans. We must be sure that does not happen, so make one more call to each of your Senators.
Although there have not been large anti-war demonstrations in the NYC area, they are happening big time in Chicago and other places. We can assume that they will happen more places and more often. If you want to be added to my email list for rapid response alerts, please let me know.

Upon hearing about the attack I immediately wrote to my Congressman the following:
As my representative, it is your duty to oversee runaway administrations. This war mongering, nation stealing, extortive behavior, and war crime activity needs to stop. If you do not voice opposition to it, then you are complicit by your silence. At one time, I thought if anything were you were a friend of the armed services. I abhor using our service members as pawns in these political games. Please show the courage that these times demand and stand up to this insurrection of our American values.
Every time I read posts and see images of the death toll in the Middle East, my stomach feels like an elevator dropping ever further toward a toxic swamp that this country will become if we do not act immediately to end this horror show of a government.
We have seen that multiple impeachments have no effect on Trump or his monstrous minions.
I do not know how it can be done nor how soon. Nevertheless, we cannot afford to wait for elections that will very likely be prevented. Since it has become abundantly clear that our elected officials for the most part are loyal only to their perk – filled jobs instead of their constituents, states should grow a spine and recall all of those who failed to cast their votes in the best interests of the United States and We the People. These fools and cowards do not deserve their jobs or our respect. PINK SLIPS FOR POSEURS!
