My dear high school friend sent me a text last night of her despair. We both have limited mobility and will support 10/18. She for her grandson and great-grands and both of us for what we thought we knew of what this country was and will be again. Thanks, Steve.
I am afraid it comes down to us old fogeys to shoulder a lot of the burden here. We had decent high school Civics courses. We remember when 'America' used to mean something. Though I despised Ronnie Raygun, I kind of liked his 'Shining City on a Hill' speech. Somehow we need to inspire those younger than ourselves to get out and stand up for democracy. I'll be out there on October 18!
I know we oldies are supposed to say 'Oh when I was your age, it was so much worse.' But overall that is no longer true. It has been and is really tough on people in their forties and younger. And as we live longer, their job and housing opportunities are fewer. I am happy to be fit and able to Get Out The Vote and to protest. With many younger people - who really give me hope.
Thanks all. There is strong cohort of non-geezers at these and on the 18th it will be everyone. The organizers say it will be the largest yet! Stay peaceful and we will be great!
Stephen Miller is being criticized for stating on CNN that the president has "plenary authority," effectively meaning he has limitless power, which he does not. Miller stopped in mid-sentence, implying he didn't mean to let that slip. Immediately, CNN went to a commercial break and explained the interruption as a glitch ("crossed wires").
But, it does give us a glimpse into what the Trump administration might have up their sleeves, going forward.

Great work, Steve! Headed to the streets on the 18th in Louisville. Give my regards to Yorkville. I'll wave to you.
Thanks for the important info Steve! I am praying that ICE exhibits control during the protests!
We know that documented peaceful protests always win long-term!! Keep up the great work!!
as always, thank you for being who you are.
Totalitarian, dictatorial, words too soft for what is happening right now.
