These are all brilliant, with a special shout-out to Barry Blitt, whose New Yorker covers are always brilliant.

(And, yes, I've quit the WP and supported Telnaes's Substack.)

The thing is, not only does Anne chomp her victims with Hogarthian teeth, she is an elegant and accomplished artist in her own right. I love the way her cartoons promise and deliver little curlicues of polished delight for the devoted searcher….

Outstanding. I have admired editorial cartoonists my whole life. You have been a presence in our history from the beginning. Love the solidarity. I will spread the word and cartoons across the platforms I use. Thank you all for this protest.

The greatest irony is that in their effort to stifle any criticism of Trump and Bezos, the WaPo made Telnaes’ work go viral. Way to go, WaPo!

And made sure that we Post readers would view it on one or more competing publications' platforms, making it oh-so-easy to then start substitute subscriptions. Smooth move, Jeff! (What a maroon!)

I love the fact that all of you fabulous artists support each other in the best of ways. These cartoons are brilliant and I am certain that Ann appreciates all of you.

She is loving all this. Much better to make this a case for all media to consider than for her to go in silence. It was a good group project. Thanks.

Absolutely agree! Like Professor Timothy Snyder has said to adopt the phrase “I will not obey in advance”. That’s exactly what all of you have done, so BRAVO!!👏

These cartoons are magnificent!

FWIW, I cancelled my WaPoo subscription when Li'l Jeffy overruled the Ed Bd and killed the presidential endorsement. I've continued to log in (WaPoo doesn't pro-rate or refund, so my access continues for several more months) sparingly, in particular to view Ann's masterpieces. Alas, no more... When I read the news about Bezos's Goebbels 2.0 to Trump's Hitler 2.0 - via a comment in The Post and a link to another publication - I immediately initiated a paid subscription to Ann Telnaes here... which is how I have come to be included in this lovely substack as well.

In case anyone is: (a) a Post reader going back to Style Invitational days; (b) a light verse aficionado; (c) a Gene Weingarten fan; or (d) any or all of the above, I submitted a Letter to the Editor (which I have no expectation of seeing in print) in light verse, as is my wont. With a nod to esteemed Post alumnus Gene Weingarten, who introduced me to the double-dactyl verse form:

Hypocrite-flippocrite,

Jeffrey P. Bezos: He

Purchased our newspaper,

Pledged it would last.

Now it's a tool of the

Oligarcheîsthai;

Washington PAST.

* Traditional Jewish expression of condolence. Translates to "May their memory/ies be a blessing."

The bones of the Post won't be worth grinding when every person of dignity and integrity has left. And who will read it? I left it behind a long time ago.

Thank you to the accomplished artists for standing hand in hand with Ann Telnaes and making your voices heard (or read) nationwide!

I love the cartoons ! I left wapo and nyt in the dust when I couldn't stomach their relentless criticism of Biden during the run up to the election .

Thank you, STEVE for sharing those political cartoons They Say so much without a lot of words.

Jeff Bezos blue origin is also competing for contracts with the US government against Elon‘s SpaceX - could there be a connection?

Outstanding! A BIG THANK YOU to you and all of the cartoonist for supporting Ann, an outstanding cartoonist and artist with a razor sharp pen. Keep your ink bottles full, at this rate, you'll be refilling them many times in the coming 4 years and beyond.
