Yet those repub sycophants cheerfully clapped like trained seals on every lie. No bottom to these people.

Stalin Epigram

Osip Mandelstam

1933

Translated by Dmitri Smirnov

We are living, but can’t feel the land where we stay,

More than ten steps away you can’t hear what we say.

But if people would talk on occasion,

They should mention the Kremlin Caucasian.

His thick fingers are bulky and fat like live-baits,

And his accurate words are as heavy as weights.

Cucaracha’s moustaches are screaming,

And his boot-tops are shining and gleaming.

But around him a crowd of thin-necked henchmen,

And he plays with the services of these half-men.

Some are whistling, some meowing, some sniffing,

He’s alone booming, poking and whiffing.

He is forging his rules and decrees like horseshoes –

Into groins, into foreheads, in eyes, and eyebrows.

Last night, GOP Rep. Lance Gooden ripped a sign from the hand of a Democratic colleague. I checked with DC Police and Capitol Police. Both said it was a Theft.

I’m sure one of the unmarked eggs would be labeled “Russia, Russia, Russia”

Thanks Steve for your powerful work. Skipped tonight’s tirade of lies, hate and senseless cruelty. Appreciate the update.

I purposely avoided last night's lie fest.

Your take on it, considering how eggs have taken on a profound importance and have become an essential part of our daily discourse, is quite clever.

Absolutely fantastic cartoon! I did not watch that parade of lies. I refused to boost the orange creature's "ratings." I knew that I would hear the skree elsewhere.

I had hoped for an egg toss rather than those dinky signs... Whose idea was THAT?

I just thought that if protesters threw eggs it might get some attention but maybe better would be just to save the eggshells after you have used them. Maybe line the streets outside the offices of the elected officials with eggshells . You’d be surprised if you organized just how many eggshells you might acquire. It just might send a subtle message.

Unfortunately, those of us who are relatively law-abiding are not as cruel, vulgar and rebellious as the RePubs. We come off as wimps. Nothing to be done about that, I'm afraid—but proud.

Time for a new political party. There are enough citizens in every state and in Congress who are as tired of the way things are going to jump ship and enough time before the mid terms to get this plane off the ground. They do it in Europe and we can too

The problem is they all have parliamentary systems. Third parties only split the vote here. I agree that we are being ill served by the two we have now... I'm not to saying we shouldn't do it, but it needs to be carefully thought out. And there is the specter of voter apathy.
